ABOUT THIS PROJECT

DON'T LET ME SINK is a short film showcasing the raw humanity of addiction, mental health illness, the strength of motherhood and grief. It brings forth the importance of community and support during the dark holes of loneliness when one loses a loved one; and when one struggles to heal from grief.

This independent film project holds onto a strong grassroots philosophy. Everybody plays an important role in the film - behind and in front of the camera. It exists to parallel the sentiment behind Lily's story. Family is everything. And just as Lily realized she needed her community, her family to support her, this film needs its community and family to support it.

Vu Mai is the screenplay writer, the director, producer of the film. She also composed the original score and is the director of music for Don't Let Me Sink.
